How to get ISO 22000 certification in Iraq?

Obtaining ISO certification involves two steps:

2. Auditing

What is ISO 22000 standards are about?

ISO 22000 Food Safety MS gives the requirements for a food safety management system and can be certified to it. It also helps and organization needs to establish and to demonstrate its ability to control food safety hazards in order to ensure that food is safe.

This standard can be applied to any organization in the food chain, farm to fork. By Obtaining ISO 22000 certification it allows a company to show their customers that they have a food safety management system in place. This provides customer confidence in the product.

Process involved in obtaining ISO 22000 Certification in Iraq

To start the process from the scratch, Organization has to first establish the ISO 22000 system in place and obtain approach a third party ISO 22000 Certification Body. The major stages are

1. Hiring a consultant
2. Employing suitable personnel

5. Awareness Training
6. Documentation

10. Corrective Action
11. Interacting with External Certification body

Auditing:

Stage1 Audit: To check the preparedness of your organization in terms of coverage, documentation, Implementation etc. Some corrections or area of improvement points will be pointed out.

Stage2 Audit: To check the effectiveness of implementation. Any deviation is notified as “non conformity”.

Non-Conformity and Corrective Action: Any non conformity (a failure or deviation)  is documented, analysed and corrective action is taken in the system such that the same type of problems will never occur in future. On submission of Corrective Action details, CB will process for the certification.

Time duration

Time grossly depends on the size and competence of the personnel involved in the consulting and implementation process.
