What’s New in the 2026 Edition of the Course?
ISO 14001:2026 replaces ISO 14001:2015 and introduces six changes that internal auditors must learn to audit. The 2026 course covers each of them:
- Climate change clauses (4.1 and 4.2) — how to check whether climate change is treated as a relevant issue in the EMS.
- Broader environmental conditions — auditing how pollution, biodiversity, and natural resources are considered in context analysis.
- Change management (clause 6.3) — the new dedicated clause and how to verify environmental impacts of planned changes are assessed in advance.
- Stronger life-cycle perspective — across suppliers, product use, and end-of-life.
- Restructured risk and opportunity clauses — with clearer evidence requirements.
- Latest ISO Harmonized Structure — easier integrated internal audits with ISO 9001 and ISO 45001.
ISO 14001:2015 certificates expire in May 2028. Internal auditors should refresh their training on the 2026 edition well before the deadline. This course works as transition training.
Why ISO 14001:2026 Internal Auditor Training Matters in Iraq Right Now
Every organisation in Iraq currently certified to ISO 14001:2015 must transition to ISO 14001:2026 before May 2029. Internal auditors are the first line of defence in that transition — they spot gaps before external auditors do.
An EMS is a set of processes and procedures that are implemented in order to help an organization manage its environmental responsibilities. It is designed to help an organization continually improve its environmental performance and meet its legal obligations.
If you are responsible for environmental management within your organisation in Iraq — whether in oil & gas, construction, manufacturing, healthcare, or services — ISO 14001:2026 Internal Auditor Training builds the skills and knowledge to carry out effective internal audits of your EMS against the new standard.
